Delivery Driver Jailed After Sexual Assaults on Women in Maidstone
A delivery driver from Maidstone has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after sexually assaulting two women while delivering food to their homes.
The incidents took place in June and July 2025, when the driver used his role to gain access to the victims’ doorsteps. In the first incident, he made inappropriate remarks before stepping into the victim’s property and sexually assaulting her. He later returned to the address and continued the offending behaviour, even placing his contact details in the victim’s phone and repeatedly calling her afterwards.
A week later, the same driver carried out another delivery to a different address in Maidstone, where he made indecent comments and sexually assaulted a second woman. Both victims reported the incidents to police, prompting an investigation that used CCTV evidence and order records to identify and locate the offender.
Safeguarding Lessons
This case highlights the importance of safeguarding awareness and reporting concerns promptly. The offender abused a position of trust connected to his employment, targeting women in their own homes.
Following a police investigation, he was convicted of three counts of sexual assault, jailed, and given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order designed to restrict his behaviour in the future.
For safeguarding professionals and organisations, the case serves as a reminder that abuse can occur in everyday settings, including routine service visits, and that prompt reporting and effective investigation are essential to protecting victims and preventing further harm.
