The Disclosure and Barring Service has published its 2026 to 2027 business plan, outlining priorities for improving services and delivering better public outcomes.

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) has released its 2026–2027 business plan, outlining how it will carry out its strategy and uphold its commitments to safer recruitment, enhanced services, and improved outcomes for the public by 2028.

This year, DBS is focusing on strengthening its products and services for customers and partners, while also expanding collaboration with external stakeholders.

It will also explore and implement new technologies, develop more effective methods for collecting and analysing equality data, and deliver its Workforce Strategy—promoting modern, flexible working practices and investing in learning and leadership.
