NEWS- NCA launches initiative with banks to stop criminals who livestream child sexual abuse
The National Crime Agency (NCA) has highlighted the important role banks can play in preventing UK offenders from paying for the livestreaming of child sexual abuse overseas.
For the first time, the NCA has collaborated with financial institutions through its Public Private Partnerships unit to demonstrate how banks can recognise suspicious transactions linked to child sexual abuse livestreaming. By identifying these payments, banks can support law enforcement efforts to intervene more quickly and help protect children from ongoing abuse.
As the UK remains one of the leading countries involved in facilitating the livestreaming of child abuse abroad, the NCA has been sharing real case studies and active investigation insights with private sector partners to improve understanding of offender behaviour and transaction patterns.
