Community Care has updated its guide on planned reforms to children’s social care in England. The guide outlines key changes for social work professionals, including:

  • Combining targeted early help and child in need services into a single “family help” approach

  • Greater focus on kinship care and involving wider family networks in care decisions

  • Improved support for care leavers

  • Introduction of multi-agency child protection teams and a new lead child protection practitioner role
